Smart WiFi? This suggests an additional layer of user configuration, not dissimilar from the adaptive QoS you get on 'proper' routers.

I know ISPs prefer to keep it simple. for obvious reasons, but is this a possible step towards marketing a router that contains some favourite additional functions. Perhaps a VPN server capability would cheaply satisfy security recommendations for those of us who use our phones and mobile devices for banking etc in public places? VoIP? Isn't time to make use of those telephone sockets?
