Angry Stuck with adsl in London! - Help Needed

Hi,

I live in East London and my building does not have fiber and possibly never will unless I do something. What can I do? Has anyone been able to bypass the first line of contact who use the same postcode checkers we do?

I can see what is most likely the exchange box super close, just across the road. What is the most common reason why some areas can't get it? Council permissions? Large cabling costs?

Any basic customer support guy just uses the same postcode checker I do when I call them and says ''yeah you cant get it'', no shit, I know that. Is there someone I can contact higher up the chain? Would I need a petition from all 8 flats in the building saying they would agree to upgrade / switch from BT adsl we use now?

One thing I noticed is at least one building in our block (not separated by a road) has fiber if that makes a difference.

I would appreciate if anyone could point me in the right direction.

Many thanks
