Quote from The Weather Channel:
The current cold snap will soon end - but there is a big threat of more snow and below-average temperatures returning for the Easter period.
Some forecasts predict a blast of bitter air from the Arctic sweeping across Britain during the run-up to the holiday as high pressure builds north of the country.
This could allow icy, cold winds to plunge across the UK with the chance of further snow falls bringing a White Easter in some areas.
Conditions will become unsettled with temperatures starting to edge upwards later this week with longer periods of drier and bright weather coupled with some heavy rain.
There is still uncertainty for the Easter Weekend but computer data suggests that the area of high pressure lodged to the north of the country could allow colder Arctic air to stream across Britain.
