Pneumonia is a disease symptom rather than a disease in itself. Most cases of pneumonia are bacterial and half of those cases are caused by
Streptococcus pneumoniae. It's that bacterium that the vaccine is for but even then, it's only 41% effective so you're kind of riding the odds here.
There's lots of other causes of pneumonia including virus, fungi, combinations of infectious agents and non-infectious causes. Check photos of Tom Moore, he either is or was a smoker by the look of his teeth.
