A guy I follow on Social Media (Stonekettle) posted this, and I totally agree with him (he had over 20 years service in the US Navy, specialising in Information Warfare and War Planning).

I'm not excusing Iran, just the opposite. But this what happens when nations go to war, there's nothing glorious about it, war is brutal, inhuman, and immoral.

And this is the price. Right here.

Those who start these conflicts, over politics, ideology, religion, resources, whatever idiotic thing, the rich and powerful, THEY are rarely the ones who have to pay -- at least not until thousands of innocents are slaughtered first.

And that slaughter, that is the cost of war.

Death is the price, and the bill always comes due. War a damned dirty business and make no mistake about it.

Perhaps if Americans actually understood this, really understood it, instead of regarding war as some sort of sporting event, they'd be less eager to have one every few years.
