Racist taunts in my view are more likely to inspire a player rather then put them off as abuse of any sort is very disappointing to hear on a sporting pitch or within wider society.

So what was the motive behind taunts aimed at white players? What are the motives for "sledging" in Cricket?
If the players are really not that bothered by the taunts, then why are they complaining? If they were really not that bothered they would rise above it, and the taunts would end up being a pointless ezercise.
Compare with the programme on BBC1 last night, "
Hindus: Do We Have a Caste Problem?", where taunts were used by people's fellow Hindu work colleagues.
