Re: Homeplug problem

Hi,

It doesn't sound like a homeplug problem - at first reading - as you have connectivity via your wireless laptops.

Anyway have you tried the following:

1. Rebooting the desktop - just to refresh the ethernet cards.

2. run the command IPCONFIG /ALL from the command line and see if you have an IP address assigned to your desktop.

3. Alternative to no. 2 - looked at the network devices from the control panel and see if they are enabled and there are no conflicts.

4. You haven't mentioned if you are running any anti-virus software on your desktop, are you?

5. Have you checked that your wireless laptop can still connect to the internet when you disable the wireless and use a wired connection?

Question: Are you running behind a router?

If yes (to the above question) have you checked if the router settings have changed in any way? For example wired connection might be disabled, but wireless connections are still enabled.

Hope some of this helps,
Steve.
