The chances of being impacted by gun violence in he USA is more than being in a car accident.

36,000 Americans killed by guns each year.

You can't see the difference between someone being shot for instance in a robbery gone wrong or a drug deal feud vs a nutter going to a shopping mall and shooting multiple random people on some ideological rampage.
