This is not really very good news for those who enjoy conventional scheduled pay TV. While it is nice that more people are getting access to more channels, all the time the advantage that is provided to subscribers to conventional pay TV channels are being eroded, putting pressure on the cablecos.

They will turn more and more to the streaming services, with wholesale deals that are cheaper, contain more watchable content on demand and will spell disaster for the remaning traditional pay TV channels.

However, in the end, this may spell better value for money for satellite and cable subscribers. Only the diehards who refuse to adjust will be disappointed.
