Really, did nobody in regulations or authority have the wit to see the march toward HD?
It's Eureka-147 DAB all over again!

Rolling out an SDTV digital system which isn't complete before it needs upgrading again to HD.
Rolling out a digital radio system based on an obsolete and inferior codec.

Digital switchover forced the pace of a sytem that was only half finished, and built on the remains of the business failure of OnDigital/ITV digital, leaving the remains of the "setpal" chipset boxes scattered along the wayside.
