If you're on eth - don't use the CD and don't go to the reg page, you don't need either.

But if you had a 169 IP using the nic try unplugging the coax to see if the IP changes to 192, if it does, you need to get in contact with tech support, if it stays 169 then it's an issue with the eth card, meaning use USB or get the nic checked/replaced.

Have a look at http://forum.nthellworld.co.uk/showthread.php?t=4983 for info on testing your connection (doesn't work for the Terayon modem).
