Man, 73, kills robber holding shears to wife's neck

Way to go!
It always amazes me how we in the UK are made to feel that we cannot actively defend ourselves, our family and our property during a burgalry. Do anything to a burglar that leaves the slightest mark on him and you get arrested.
If ever I have to confront a burlgar I want to feel safe in the knowledge that I can legally detain him and be able to happily break his arms and kick his teeth in in the process without any fear of legal action.
