I don't think any human has the right to decide when another human dies, that goes for whoever perpetrated the crime and whoever is deciding punishment for it. As for your man jerrek deriving satisfaction from someone elses death ... I think he either needs a little psychological help or to move down to the deep south 'bible belt' where people will welcome his views.

edit: And, whoever called him a 'hypocritical' christian was actually pretty much on the mark, if he'd like to think back to a private message he sent me a while back (which I'm not going to post) then I'm pretty sure he'll agree.
