Re: Jury recommends death penalty for Wash. sniper

I guess the thought of someone getting satisfaction from an execution turns my stomach.
What about getting a lengthy sentence? If I see someone getting 10 years for armed robbery I also get satisfaction because the punishment is just. Simliar to the execution. In fact, it is a common feeling among people.

Actually I'd probably feel like they got let off.
I wouldn't. I would be very happy.

Yes both are unacceptable, but hey at least if you send someone to prison for life they still have a chance to clear themselves and gain freedom or parole.
Once again you're hitting on the judicial process, not capital punishment itself.

I'd like to think that no family would want a rotten, burned/boiled alive corpse exhumed and presented to them with a little note saying....."oppps sorry he/she was innocent"
As opposed to imprisoning a man from age 25 to age 65 and then letting him out with a note "oppps sorry he/she was innocent."

Yes. Indeed. Why is the one more acceptable than the other? To me they are both completely unacceptable.
