Wired networking NTL

Hi, is it possible to let my laptop use the my ntl connection at the same time as my main pc?

I do not have a wireless network card in my pc so I was hoping to do it the 'wired way', if there is one :p. I currently have my ntl modem plugged into my router and a connection from the router to the PC, the internet works fine. I have also plugged the laptop into the router- it comes up saying that its connected to a LAN however it wont access the internet.

I've done this before with AOL using a hub to connect between the laptop and pc and then made the laptop proxy through the main pc in order to connect to the net.

I have a Netgear super wireless router , 2 cat5 cables and a 10/100Mbps Ethernet Switch but no clue on how to get it working

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks =)
