Nemmie - noooooo, au contrare! I can hear it too -
I used to go to lots of gigs (to see bands like 'A' and Symposium, saw both more than 50x each heehee) - I started to have to wear earplugs, and I so got told off by one of the bands for not wearing them once! Served me right really

that noise is what tinnitus sounds like...
