Only ntl can reset your modem remotely, it's a message sent over SNMP and you need to first be able to access the modem over SNMP, second know the right community string for write access and third know the MIB to reset the modem.
It's abnormal for a modem to drop connection multiple times a day and need a reboot and it suggests the modem is faulty or you've signal issues, these should be resolved.
