I wouldn't mind, but change is inevitable... if NTL stayed slow then everyone would eventually go to ADSL, end of story, then they would go out of business and where would your connection be then??? Or... they could stay as they are and wait til the competition is on 100meg and make the jump then... if you think THIS is causing problems, see what the jump from 2 to 100 would do!!!
Please, come up with some reasoned argument or alternative and I will listen, but stop posting the same cr*p about "I don't want it", we're sick of hearing it!

We did this one the other night didn't we?
I am no luddite, and I appreciate that that many people DO need faster speeds, and it is wholly right that ntl are providing them.
What I don't understand is why existing customers MUST be upgraded even if they don't need to be. From reading the experiances of others, this risks changing my rock solid stable 2mb connection into an unstable fluctuating connection that's faster some days than others, assuming it works at all. That would be no good to me.
I'd rather have the ability to 'opt out' and keep my current speed. Then, if I need it to be faster in the future, I can ask for it. I would even be happy to pay a small admin fee to upgrade in this 'bespoke' way should it be required.
