Re: Steam problem
Had exactly the same problem yesterday on my mums machine, When we checked we had a old version of steam still on the machine and we thought it was a conflict.
We wanted steam for Counterstrike. We uninstalled counterstrike, Removed a old dialer from the network connections. Then it worked. Not sure which part of what we did corrected it, but eventually it did work, Try checking old dialers first.
