Ok - its a bold step into the uknown for me.

Ok heres the setup

1 laptop, decent specs.
1 Cranky old P something or other, running win 98.

I connect both via ethernet to 4mb (one day!) NTL broadband - currently one at a time as I have no Router.

What im looking to find out is how to actually go about setting up both systems to run from a router. Im not fussy about it being wireless and I would like to keep the costs down as im a tight ****

Ive found loads of different makes/models available, is there a massive difference and is there any one in particular thats better suited to NTL and/or my current set-up of systems?

Any help would be greatly appriciated.
