What settings to I have to type into the router to get it set up with NTL?

I'm planning to:

1 - Take router upstairs to main PC and get it set up with the CD hardwired, and also install the NTL CD at this point, so that settings are configured to NTL specifications.
2 - take router back downstairs and attach modem, then turn them both on.
3 - Plug wireless usb dongle into main PC upstairs and connect to the router.

I'm hoping it will then work. Any comments?
