As far as I know you will have to turn it off... but I think 5 mins is a little over the top... try 15 seconds
If you have an isolation circuit in the attic you could trip that instead of crawling around... but I guess you prob won't have that, so time to get crawling... of course you DO know that if you go crawling they won't have upgraded you.... but if you don't they will have upgraded you...
