This looks like another clash of cultures.

In Europe we tend to use RGB as the fundamental method of video transmission whilst in America they tend to use component. I could argue that RGB is better but, in practice, there will be little difference. The problem arises when you try to connect equipment designed for different markets. You can get boxes to do the conversion (try Keene Electronics) but this adds expense and degrades picture quality slightly. Far better to ensure the equipment is compatible in the first place.
