Although I 'phoned NTL on Friday to downgrade, I was still on bund03 (10mb) until this morning when we found ourselves having to re-register the computers with no word or warning.
On midnight yesterday morning (Saturday), I checked my speed with the PC Pitstop website. The 10mb (bund03) was giving me 112kb/s up and 1271kb/s down.
Now that I've had to reboot and re-register, the STB says I'm on "mid" (which must mean 2mb/4mb). PC Pitstop now says 191kb/s up and 1868kb/s down. The second time I test, I got 196kb/s up and 1891kb/s down. So I'm paying less and getting a better service now. (Well, all things being equal, I'm probably getting exactly the same service.

)
And, of course, I've noticed no difference in my internet experience - other than the satisfaction of having an extra tenner in my pocket come the end of the month.
