Golden Ticket Update
The competition is to close soon but while we wait, we bring you a roundup of all the latest Golden Ticket news.
Tonight at 10.20pm, the competition closes. Forty seven tickets have so far been found, and eighteen have been claimed to date - which means 53 are yet to be discovered!
Twenty tickets are currently for sale on the auction site e-bay, with prices averaging at £900. One person bought 10,000 bars of the chocolate and luckily got a ticket.
Other facts:
- KitKat sales have soared
- The Golden Ticket hotline has received dozens of calls from Big Brother fans claiming that they have a Golden Ticket but have mislaid it.
- 20 have claimed that their tickets have been stolen
- 10 have claimed that hungry pets have eaten them
- 4 have claimed they left their ticket in their clothes when washing them.
Winners so far include Tim Slessor, 28, a film and video editor from the Isle of Dogs in London, Adam Pattison, 22, a home support worker caring for disabled adults from Bristol and Lorraine Harlow, 27, who hails from Weston-Super-Mare and is a mother of one.
Also a winner is Vicki Ellis, 27, a barmaid from Epsom in Surrey who feels that going on Big Brother would be the experience of a lifetime and Mohammed ‘Nad’ Butt, a 24-year old self-confessed playboy who works for a celebrity and glamour model photo agency.
Two others, Philip Colaco from Dundee and Deborah Dakers from Norwich bought their tickets on eBay. The shame!
'This is a first for Big Brother. Nothing on this scale has ever been tried before in a reality show,' says Angela Jain, Channel 4's Big Brother comissioning editor. 'We are always looking at new ways of trying to find brilliant housemates and the golden ticket feels like a genuinely exciting way to do so.'
The golden ticket winners enter a week today (Friday 9th June).
