Yes TUPE is not a done deal.
Redeployment could easily be an option into service and the new London area manager has confirmed this possibilty though no numbres have been floated.
TUPE offers limited protection and it seems likely that at some stage the contract firm will start to try to change T&Cs

Thats why you need to stick together, join a union and organsie yourselves. BECTU has a small bargaining unit in NTL which has recognition rights. The CWU has recognition rights in Installs, service and networks. AMICUS has no recognition in any firm and has its history in engineering not communications.

It's better you were in a union than none at all. My preference would be the CWU but its up to you.
