highlight tcp/ip and click properties make sure both settings are set to automatically close that then on general tab click support and then repair
you could also try disabling your firewall first

done all that.... i realised that the LAN card that i used to connect through was the same one that i used for networking the 2 comps, and I MYSELF had put use 192.168.0.1, to make the network work.... << which i forgot about until u reminded me!
so i changed it to automatic, and restarted comp with ETHERNET wires.... and the comp freezes at startup screen [user login screen]. so i shut down, removed the power to the modem, then logged back in, and then powered up the modem again!...... this time i got an ip, but there was no values for
SUBNET MASK AND
DEFAULT GATEWAY! so internet never worked
can some1/zinglebarb plz help!
