Hopefully you won't have to do it every time. There is no rhyme or reason why it works sometimes but not others (actually there probably is a reason but I don't know it). This should work when it doesn't though.
As for the beer ... we can share a virtual beer with the whole forum. I've learned most of what I know about PC tips and tricks from the other members here. As a Mac user, PCs can sometimes be a mystery to me too.
