ok guys... need ur helpppp
i was upgraded to 10mb from 1mb, and while talking to Tech Support in India, he sed that i should use ETHERNET instead of USB [to get faster speeds, as the reason i am getting around 4-5mb speeds is because of the USB], so currently i have hooked up 2 computers together using the network cards, but i took out that connection from the computer that the modem is connected to by USB, and connected the modem via ETHERNET to the NETWORK CARD I USE FOR NETWORKING the 2 comps, but the problem is that the internet doesnt work.... its nothing to do with restarting/waiting watever that is, but the problem is that i dont get a IP ADDRESS when the modem is connected to the ETHERNET....
i am thinking is it something to do with the fact that i use that network card for networking and some settings need to be changed?
or is it something else that is preventing me from OBTAINING an IP ADDRESS....
any help would be greatly appreciated
thx...
PS, i am doing this so that i can see whether i was lied to by tech support or really ethernet would increase my speeds by 2mb as sed by him, as if it does make such a difference, then i will go tomoz and buy another network card...
