Re: Linksys Wrt54gs Setting Up Probs On Ntl

Thanks for the quick response,
I was doing the set up for a mate at their house, after spending all day trying I came home, head spinning, and have come on here to try and pick peoples brains, I can build a pc, but this networking is a bit above me, so forgive me if I dont quite grasp all the terms.
Yes both the pc and the lappy are running XP SP2, the laptop had SP 1 on it, when we took it to PC World, he pressed a button on it , and it picked up the instore newtowrks n/p, and he told me to get SP2 on it, which I did soon as we got back with it, all I did was follow the set up cd to the letter, and the first time It worked n/p, they took the laptop downstairs and the back upstairs and it lost the connection.
In network connections on the laptop, there was the mini card, the lan, and a bridge, all these three were in bridged connection section.
When I viewed the available networks, there was Welby, linksys was there once then didnt show up any more.
I will be going back round later this week to try and solve it, just cant get em head around some of the terms.
When I phoned PC World they said it needed to be set up for wired first then configured for wireless, which confued me even more :Z.
