I don't think you've been listening. Just because all the assets are owned by one single company does not mean that all the staff, computer systems and marketing programmes wake up one morning to find they have miraculously merged into one great big whole. Corporate mergers take a lot of time, planning and money and most of the work can't start until
after the actual purchase of one company by another is complete. Trust me, I have been involved in more than one, I know what I'm talking about.
