I actually agree with you.
The thing is, the people who are considering ditching ntl to go for this CPW deal will be the ones who already perhaps feel that
ntl are a shower of ****
CPW have a great reputation for customer servic & always have done, unfortunately the same can't be said for ntl.

To be
proactive & prevent the loss of many customers (& therefore lots of ca$h) perhaps?
Having said that, proactive & ntl don't really belong in the same sentance.
