Dammit, I'm a man on the edge of destorying MS... DNS help
Hey,
I'm sorry if this topic doesn't belong in this section but i'm hanging on to my sanity by a thread here.
I recently purchased an Xbox 360 Preminum pack 5 days ago. I got a Ethenet cable with my 360 and a months free trial to Xbox Live Gold. I can't afford to buy the 360 wireless adapter to connect to my router yet (60 f***ing pounds) so decided to connected to live via my pc and ICS (Internet Connection Sharing.) First i enabled my current network connection to share its internet with other devices. I plugged my 360 into my PC via the ethenet cable given and up popped the connection that stated 'connected, firewalled.' I presumed i was okay to go, so went to the 360 dashboard and clicked on xbox live, only to be presented with a not very nice MS error screen. It said it couldn't connect so it was going to test my Live connection. Network adapter, wired and fine, IP is Confirmed, DNS is failed? Every time i do the test i get this damn 'The DNS could not be reached' error and it's driving me nuts. I rebooted my PC and 360, still didnt work. Updated my routers firmware, nothing. Manually typed in my internets IP, Gateway, DNS etc and still nothing. Iv'e been trying to get it working a good 3 hours now and its really p***ing me off! It feels as though i wasted £279 on this thing and i couldve got more use buying a giant inflatable bouncy castle to connect to live or something.
Anyway, i'm figuring the 360 cannot find my connections DNS. It automatically configures itself too '192.168.0.1'. I allready tried changing that to my pcs DNS and still nothing. I'm trying to connected like this,

If anyone has any ideas of how i might be able to fix this i'd really really appreciate it. Please help if you can, im gunna throw the thing out the window in a minuite.
