He asked if I had a pin code from NTL, which I hadn't as I assume that NTL assumed I'd use my existing modem.
He gave me a CD to install and use to register my new modem and to call CS for the pin code (but have spotted it on Robin Walker's site, so don't want to call unless I have to), which I will do when I get home, but I want to do it armed with a bit of info.
Will it give me the option of retaining my current NTL account and email address, or will it force me to create a totally new account. If I have to create a new account can CS point my old email address to my new account?
I think this depends on what they have done with the old account etc.

If you did have your old pin number etc you could point your browser to https://autoreg.autoregister.net and then there is an option on there to choose existing customer etc which should retain your existing email address etc.

Worth checking with Tech Support firstly.

Worst case scenario is you can sign up as a new customer and then ask them to release the original email address so you can re register the same address.
