Some customers on the Bromley platform connect via their STB for their Broadband Connection, they use a PID number and password to register PC's onto the provisioning account, the system allows upto 5 pc's to be registered. This means if they try to use a different pc then they have to register it first before they can use it for BB. They have a signal sent to the STB for their speed so if they want to change up or down, they have to go through the process to re-register again.

Cable Modems are so much easier Once they are registered that's it, use whatever PC you want without any messing about
