Yet another update to anyone thats intrested.
A engineer came out today checked my line with his little box thing and said the connection was weak, then realised he hadnt plugged the cable all the way in to his box thing

and the cable came back as fine.
He replaced my modem with a new small blue NTL 250 and said give us a ring if it carrys on happening.
So far so good it hasnt happened, so as long as it dosnt happen again thats great from ringing them at 11.00 it was sorted 4 hours later.
