Yes, I know of these issues, thanks. What I'm trying to narrow down on this one is was there a general problem at the specified time or, no matter how unlikely it seems, was NTL possibly lying to me

I'll have to see how it goes. 8 meg due on my local BT exchange this week, so I may part company with NTL.
