Due to NTL technical support (Sounds like India or Pakistan or nearby) being absolutely horrific in their appreciation in my connection issue I have bought an Ntl home 250 modem from ebay.
It only cost me just over ÃƒÆ’Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£5 so I thought it was worth a shot (consider I wasted MUCH more on the phone to ntl!). I guessed it'd not be a case of simply swapping them over, and sure enough there is an error (error 800).

Is it actually possible to change modem? Or do ntl link the modem to connection in some way?
