never played wow so not sure what goes on, but when you experience the problems is you pc trying to make a high number of simutaneous connections?

check the system tab in event viewer, if it shows warnings with TCP/IP then you need to apply a patch to increase the number of connections allowed.
It seems that way from the event log, I have downloaded an optimizer which allows me to increase the amount of connections allowed.

Does the STB freeze, as in you can't change channels?
I used to have that trouble all the time with my old PACE box, but since getting the SAMSUNG box there's been almost no set-top box freezes or modem resets.

I've also encountered a similar problem with Ultima Online and Marvel 10/100/1000 NIC's in the past, with almost the same sort of symptons,
The network card I am using at the moment is Marvel onboard one on an nforce motherboard. The other network cards I've tried is an onboard realtek one and a netgear one which used a PCI slot.

Do Not know if it will help, but have you got all the required ports open for WOW. ie 3724, 6112 & 6881-6999.
Thanks, I already have all those ports open
