This gives an impression that these people were 'displaced' through no fault of their own, i.e. homeless. This is patently untrue as all 'travellers' have 'no fixed abode' i.e. 'travel' by choice.
In the case of the pikeys under current discussion this is, I suspect, to be conveniently relatively untraceable following whatever misdemeanours they perpetrate on local society.
