OK, I don't use IE/windoze myself, but this post from someone who does will tell you how to specify an alternative Domain Name Service server:

The value to add in the 'preferred DNS' field is 158.152.1.43

Try this as an alternative proxy server:

cache1-blfs.server.ntli.net

or alternaatively try:

inktomi2-lee.server.ntl.com

Either way, this post tells you how to do it:

If you want to speed up more than just browsing, the same post has details on the different settings you have to change.

Don't be daunted by any of this ... I learned what I've just posted from guys on this forum, and if I can pick it up anyone can!
