Re: Router question (N00b questions)

You will need a cable router rather than a switch, the cable modem that telewest provide will have both USB and ethernet ports on it and its the ethernet than you will use to connect to a router.

Secondly, from what I know, there should be no need to inform telewest of any MAC addresses, just switch everything off, connect the cable modem to the router, power on your cable modem and wait for it to stabilize, power on your router, then power on everything else.
