Re: MTU/Update Failed... xBox 360
Gents, (and Zeph my Poole comerade!)
My current set up for internet access is thus:
Samsung STB is connected to Cable, and has inbuilt a cable modem. The Modem is connected via Ethernet output to the BT Voyager 1500 (RJ11 input I think it's called?) .
The BT Voyager 1500 then beams the signal out to whatever wifi enabled device I want it to work with (in theory!)
In order for this to work, I of course had to "Clone" the MAC code of the Laptop I *registered* with NTL on to the BT Voyager 1500 (so the STB thinks my router is the laptop I registered with and everyone's happy).
So, my PC is connected fine, connection is Very Good @54 Mbps, I connect my wifi PDA to the network ok, my friends come around and connect their laptops ok... no worries.
*however* the xbox is having trouble (and apparently my old housemate also couldn't get his regular xbox to connect to live either!).
My 360 'sees' the SSID network, is connected to it, and has a great signal - but it doesn't seem to be able to connect to the 'internet' by the looks of things...
My knowledge of wireless networks is pretty good, and I can't see anything obvious with the settings on my router - the only thing I don't have any idea about in the router config is "Protocols".
At the moment the router is set on DHCP Client. Other options I have on the same page are: PPPoE Client and Manual. I'm wondering if this could be the problem - but I don't know what it means so I don't want to play around with it!!
Does any of this info help you guys??
