MTU/Update Failed... xBox 360

Hi ppl!

I've got my 360 today, but can't connect the bleeder to Live!!! I am using NTL as my ISP, I have a BT Voyager 1500 Wireless Router (reliably informed that this IS Live compatable).

I have purchased the official 360 Wireless Adapter.

I have checked all the Wireless Settings on the 360 and they seem correct.

I have checked the settings of the Router, and they seem to be fine.

The problem I am getting is:

When I try to connect to live to register, it says I need to download a mandatory update - I click ok, and it tries for a few seconds and says "Update Failed".

When I check the Live Connection, it passes all the tests and fails on "MTU".

Sometimes, however, when I run the tests it passes MTU, and then stops on the "xBox Live" test where it then prompts me to download the update! (Which fails as above)....

xBox Live Support desk are no use - they just tell me to increase the MTU setting on my router which I can't do as there is no option to do this on my settings anywhere.

I also don't really believe the problem has anything to do with MTU - I reckon this is a red herring - especially as the test passes ok sometimes...

The Wireless Signal is on full bars (i.e. all 4/5 bars are usually lit)

Any ideas gang??
