What are the best deals available to existing customers?
Hi all, I just wanted to know what deals are available to me as an existing customer? I've been having trouble with my Broadband lately (flashing light on STB) and I was looking on various cable/ntl topics to see is I can find a solution, which seems to be ring CS, but during my search I noticed an alarming inconsistency in the deals available to people and the price people are paying!
The general vibe I got is that you have a word with CS and they can arrange all sorts of perks for you. Now I'm not normally the type of person that's hard faced enough to try that, but given as I need to ring them to sort out my broadband anyway I was wondering what sort of things I could ask for/expect while I'm on to them? I mean I only found out that I could get broadband+ for free the other week by accident!
I have the family pack, with the standard phone package (I think it's called 321) and also a 2mb connection. This is currently costing me around £56 (excl. calls) a month, but if people are to be believed I'm paying over the odds as discounts are available just for asking! I've just looked at their new customer website and sure enough there is a "triple plan" which is basically the same pack as I'm on but only costs £50 and includes free local calls!!!
So obviously I'll ask for that (I can't believe they don't tell you these things as standard though) but is that the best I can expect, is there anything else I could ask for that I could get without too much arm twisting? I mean I've heard one or two people only pay £26 for the 10MB service, and I've heard about a free upgrade for 2Mb users to 3Mb (I didn't even know there was such a service), and there also seems to be people that only pay £17.99 for the 2Mb service??? Some also get some free TV package upgrades etc too.
So what should I be asking for? I want to keep the family pack, not too fussed about the phone package as we don't use it much, and the Broadband would have to be 2Mb or above. What should I be asking for to get the best deal?
Thanks.
