Re: wireless setup issues

The only other things that spring to mind (straw clutching!) are
Is MAC address filtering set up on the router? (Not a default setting)
Are there sufficient DHCP addresses available? (you could try forcing the card to a fixed IP in the routers address range)
Is you LAN card plugged in to the router when you try to connect? If so does disconnecting make a diff?
Finally, have you tried deinstalling the card, cleaning the drivers and reinstalling? (worked for me once!)
Other than those straws, doesn't sound like you've done much wrong!
