nintendo forums full of people with connection problems, but few seem to address possible problems behind wired routers. Not being a network expert I wondered if anyone had any clue here.

I have followed the instructions below about changing the router's LAN address.
If the LAN address is 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1, we recommend changing it to 192.168.2.1 in order to avoid a conflict that will likely prevent the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector from installing.

I am only running Windows Firewall at present incase ZA was causing a problem, and even with Windows f/w off I can't connect to the internet from the ds
I don't think you'll need to change your router's address.
