I have EXACTLY the same issue, plugged direct into the router i get 1.2mbs, over wireless it drops down to about 500kbs even with an excelent signal strength. I have tried my inbuilt broadcom and a pcmcia netgear wireless card connecting to a linksys and a belkin wireless router, no combination made any real diffrence. having read this thread i tried suse, guess what, full speeds!? Something with windows then?
Im running XP Pro, SP2 and patched up to jan06, i have removed the windows firewall and am just using the one on my router. It must be some setting somewhere, i shall continue to investigate but does anyone else have any ideas??
