You cannot use an ADSL one - you need a Cable one. It should have an RJ45 plug on it NOT an RJ11 plug (a network cable plug like the one on the cable coming from your NTL cable modem, not a phone jack).

You didn't need to start a new thread to ask this question, you could have asked in the one I answered about recommendations.

As said before the Linksys WRT54G would be something I would direct you toward. There is a searc box on the PC world site and if you are in store even the average PC world numpty should know the difference between RJ45 and RJ11.
