At the moment i'm using a linksys wrt54gs and my onboard intel wirless pro 2200GB. During the past 2 days, i've tried a belkin 7230 and a belkin 7231 router. Then a belkin 7051 usb adapter and a linksys wusb54gs. No matter what combination i tried, the kit made no difference at all. If i connect a cable to the lan ports on any of the routers then i get the full 1mb/s download speed so i don't think its a HW fault. I must be missing something.....
